Tiger Woods Has FINALLY Earned His 80th Career PGA Tour Win To Cap Off The Greatest Comeback Story In Sports

After 1,876 days, 4 back surgeries, a DUI, and countless haters saying Tiger would never be back on top, it was on the 23rd of September in 2018 that Tiger Woods has won his 80th PGA Tour event. This is a moment that MANY people thought would never come to fruition, and even Tiger himself thought his career might be over during this time period, but folks, we have just witnessed the greatest comeback story in all of sports. I cannot put into words how special this moment is for golf fans everywhere, and especially for those who never got off the Tiger Train! I would be lying if a 30 man field at the Tour Championship didn’t make this win a little more anticlimactic, but then you look at the field who was on his tail all week, and it makes his 2 shot win that much more impressive.

Just an absolutely vintage type of day from not only Tiger, but the field who subsequently crumbled in the face of a laser focused Tiger Woods. Steady like a rock all day Sunday, and gave those Euros like Rory and Justin Rose a little glimpse of what they are going to see not only next week in France, but all next year! Tiger already being touted as the favorite for Augusta in April, this win at East Lake could propel him to have one of those vintage Tiger years next season. Although the field crumbled behind him, when you walk in with a sleeveless Dri Fit, Sunday Red in hand, there was no doubt that this man was going to win today.

Leave it to Tiger to wait until the last tournament of the PGA Tour season to finally get that elusive 80th win of his PGA Tour career, especially after close calls all year at the Valspar, Arnold Palmer, Open Championship, and PGA Championship. Drummed up so much god damn buzz all year, with the Tiger Needle breaking viewership records week in and week out, it is only fitting for Tiger to blow out the field and just get rid of the extra drama. Justin Rose almost made the unthinkable, thinkable, but with a “clutch” birdie on 18, Rose won the $10 Million FedEx Cup prize, but Justin is the only one who cares about that today.

Like I said earlier, it is difficult to put into words what this win means for Tiger, the game of golf, and sports in general. What Tiger has gone through to finally earn his 80th career PGA Tour victory! I would also be lying once again if a couple tears didn’t stream down my face as Tiger holed the final putt to seal the win. There aren’t many sports moments that have been as impactful in my life, than Tiger making this comeback official…Tiger Woods is BACK, and whoa boy I would not want to play against this man next season.
TIGER IS BACK!!!!!
HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
