The line for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors was Rockets -1.5. Despite the Rockets being the home team and the #1 seed, I thought that was a pretty disrespectful spread to the Golden State Warriors, potentially the greatest team we’ve ever seen on an NBA court.
Next thing you know, James Harden drops 41 points, Steph Curry has an off night, but the Warriors still win by 13. The Western Conference Finals is back tonight at 9 p.m on TNT, and once again, the Houston Rockets are favored by 1.5.
Did Vegas not learn a single thing from the first game? The Rockets played a pretty decent game at home, and didn’t even come that close. Kevin Durant legitimately couldn’t miss as he responded to James Harden by dropping 37 points of his own.
If Kevin Durant isn’t on his game, then I’m sure Steph Curry will step up and drop 30 and if they both aren’t on, I’m sure Klay Thompson and Draymond Green will score a ton. There’s just too much talent in Golden State for them ever to be underdogs in a single game as long as they are completely healthy.
In my opinion, if I had to pick the Rockets to win one game in this series it’s this one because they’re still at home with the possibility of going to Golden State down 0-2. In that case, they’re 100% getting swept. BUT FAVORED?!? Sorry, there’s just no way they should be favored.
As a bettor I’m pounding that Warriors spread again. They’re locked in right now, completely healthy, and possibly the best we’ve ever seen them over the past four years. Too much talent, too much chemistry, too much experience…
What are you doing Vegas?
