It happens. We’ve all seen it. The guy at the craps table that absolutely CANNOT throw a seven. The nit at the poker table who spikes a one-outer to felt someone, (usually me). The chick who wins your NFL office pool because she based her picks on which mascot is cuter. For whatever reason, they just can’t lose. That’s the kind of weekend I had.
4-1 today, 18-6 for conference tourney week. And we’re just getting started! Follow me and also check out my new podcast, “Hook, Line, and Cover,” starting this week on https://t.co/v0ZbEFsxrj #enfuego@TheHashSports @LNOpodcast pic.twitter.com/C8LAxGERFa

The guys at Hash Sports decided they wanted me to do a podcast about gambling, with an emphasis on sports betting. Well, I spent almost two decades in the casino business, and even longer as a slightly positive EV sports bettor, so I was excited about giving it a shot. They also thought I should put some picks out on Twitter to show everyone that I maybe had a clue about what I was talking about. I agreed to do it starting with last Thursday’s conference tourneys.
I started off Thursday with two overs. CMU did their thing, as did Virginia, and just like that, I’m 2-0. The afternoon brought KU rounding into postseason form but Michael Porter Jr. looks really rusty after 111 days off and Mizzou loses outright. 3-1 so far. Another loss when Texas Tech can’t make a free throw coming down the stretch, but all the other night games hit. 7-2 for the day.
Friday I go 4-1 early, with the only blemish coming when Georgia State and Troy go ice cold in the second half to screw the over. Trying for a little late-night win, I watch the UCSB Gauchos lead the whole game, only to piss it away in the last two minutes. 4-2 for the day, 11-4 overall.
Unfortunately, most of Saturday is spent moving my dad from a rehab unit back into his nursing home. I don’t have much time for ‘capping the games and I just post three on Twitter, going 2-1 for the day, 13-5 overall. As a side note, I made some action bets on games that I could watch on TV or my phone while hanging out with my pop. I go 5-1 on those. I’m truly on an epic heater.
Sunday brought only five opportunities for bets, as most of the tourneys wrapped up on Saturday. What the hell, I’m hot, I put out picks on all five. Everything breaks right early and I sit at 4-0 early with only Cincinatti -4 left. After trailing a lot of the game to a good Houston squad, the Bearcats finally wake up, just not quite in time to save me. They win by three, leaving me a point short of a perfect day. 4-1 for Sunday and 17-6 for the four day stretch.
So here we are. This is a big week. The tourney starts and my first episode of “Hook, Line, and Cover” debuts on Thursday. Each year I bet on every game, just for the challenge, and this year will be no different. I’ll post all of my picks on Twitter, but I’ll also let you know about the ones that I think deserve a real play. So, tune in to the show and don’t forget follow me on Twitter (@Steehnroller). Because the shit’s about to get real.
